Ant's eye view

The cracked crosswalk at the intersection of Pine Ave. and 6th St. in downtown Long Beach, with the sun setting.

And at night.

Back in near black

Under the back stairs in my complex, the light from the back alley coming through the window.

Fire

Scenes from today's Hope for Firefighters event in downtown L.A.
Um, guys, there seems to be smoke... um...

Wiggle

I never grow weary of shooting light reflected off one tall building on to another.

Here we see the north side of the AT&T building in downtown L.A. at sunset. (The building across from it has a curved edge, resulting in the wiggly reflected light running down the side here.)

Casting shadows

Underground light

The waves of light from the neon on the ceiling of the Pershing Square station for the Red Line spread over the hand rail of the stairs.

Passing

Above the stairs down from Hollywood and Highland center to Grauman's Chinese Theater is this ad for the LA Weekly, featuring shots of Elliot Smith and NWA.

And directly below that: the Build-a-Bear store.

Eh, Ice Cube is making family-friendly movies; there's no contrast.
