Quiet on Joshua Tree's western front

In Joshua Tree National Park, just a short distance in from the west entrance, there's an indistinct spot with a pulloff from the road. A few hundred feet from the road is a pile of granite rocks which is not necessarily any more interesting than all of the other granite rocks in the park, but on an early Wednesday morning in September it was a spectacular place to be. Without another person as far as the eye could see and the sun still low in the sky, it proved to be where we spent the most time. All these shots were taken near or on those rocks.
