Some shots of a spider web on the umbrella tree outside the patio last August. (The tree was cut down a few months after these were taken. Never expect that a shot will still be there later.)
The last shot -- the vertical composition -- works best for me.
You're right when you say never expect a shot to be there the next day, especially when it comes to lighting. You caught the light in these shots at the right moment. A different time of day or weather conditions might not work as well.
Grab it then, not later. I learned that the hard way.
