By the way, watch out for retina burn when your taking shots like this with a SLR and using the optical viewfinder. I read a story one time about a photographer with a long lense who was shooting the setting sun without proper filtration. The ingrared rays damaged his filter and almost damaged his eyes. I'm assuming that you're safe using a digital camera's monitor screen.
First one: 1/80th sec, F/3.5 Second one: 1/250th sec, F/8 (I think with the first I may have let the camera decide. I tend to prefer a smaller aperture when I'm going manual.)
I forget whether I used the viewfinder or not--but I was living on the edge! Extreme photography! Oh yea!
Fantastic shots. How did you set your exposure?
